'Discover it' Stores':

Introduction :
NN Centre located near the Indian Institute of Technology Mumbai displays and stores unique collection of educational toys and books. It is the head/ Main office of Navnirmiti’s organizational functions. The center is a place to find some valuable educational resources for children and learning. It offers a wide range of thoughtfully selected products and activities for young and old.

Toys:
Our toys, which are scientific and educational, are designed not only to have fun but also to build up children’s understanding. The toy range includes math kits, scientific toys & kits showing basic science experiments and principles, puzzles, wooden toys, etc. carefully selected with an aim to educate and challenge young minds in the creative do and discover method of teaching and learning. The toys & educational aids include materials made by Navnirmiti, Jodo gyan – Delhi -a partner organisaiton, University of Port Elizabeth, South Africa. The wooden toys, games and puzzles are collected from Eklavya and Ettikopakka.

Books:
Discover it! stores a wide collection of over 500 titles from all over India ranging books from Children’s book trust – Delhi, Tulika – Chennai, Eklavya – M.P, National book trust, Katha - Delhi, Jyotsna Prakashan- Mumbai and other publishers. These books cover wide range of subjects from science, maths, quiz, astronomy creativity, drawing and painting, short stories illustrated picture stories etc.

Events & Activities:
NN center hosts and holds a number of events for the local residents of powai and IIT. Workshops in Math, Science and creative subjects, exhibition and sale of products for the residents, Annual summer camp, book festival, sky observation show, telescope making workshop are some of the events organized by the center. Math workshop on the UAM is held once a month. It is an opportunity for the schools of Mumbai to enrich their experience in math teaching and learning.

A number of resource persons associated with NN center contribute their expertise in various fields through the center activities.

Other events held on a regular basis include:
.  Kahani Time: story reading in Hindi. Literatures of renowned Hindi writers are read out.

. Film Shows: the ‘Jatra Film club’ screens collection of selected good films across the globe.      The film shows also move around colleges and communities.

Subscription:
Through NN center schools and parents can also subscribe some interesting monthly children’s magazine ‘ Indradhanush’ by HGVS and bi monthly Science Poster by Eklavya ‘Kyon aur Kaise’ available both in Hindi and English.

Membership:
Discover it club: annual membership is available for the children who participate in the events and activities organized by the centre. The members will get a special discount on all the events they participate in and products they buy from the center.

Centre membership: This is an annual membership offered to the visitors at the center and fairs. The membership will offer a 10% discount on all the purchases and also keep the members updated with the latest developments, current events, toy of the month etc.
