Jodo and the Architecture of Matter

A wide variety of polyhedra can be readily constructed with the JODO 3 d kit.

The ‘Platonic Regular Polyhedra’,
The ‘Archimedean Semi Regular Polyhedra’ and their duals,
The ‘Catalan Isohedral Polyhedra’, are constructed using simple rules.

These polyhedra are encountered in a wide variety of material structures occuring in the natural and man made world spanning both the microworld and macro world, in areas such as physics, chemistry, biology, engineering and architecture. What underlies the amazing generality of these polyhedra ?

JODO 3D Kit workshop

The workshop will take the participants through a tour of the architecture of matter in all the above areas, emphasising fundamental principles like space filling, close-packing and symmetry groups in a hands-on approach using the Jodo kit.
